Use the keyboard. Vim mode is optional.

Argon supports remappable shortcuts and Quick Find. On macOS, you can use system-wide Quick Add. Vim navigation stays off until you enable it.

These shortcuts use macOS modifiers. Argon's “Primary” modifier maps to Ctrl on Windows and Linux. System-wide Quick Add currently requires the macOS desktop app.

Commands with two keystrokes wait for the second key. Press esc to cancel an unfinished sequence.

Core commands

Settings provides alternative shortcuts for Quick Add, Quick Find, create, edit and delete.

Vim commands

You can change the shortcut for every Vim action, including commands with two keystrokes. You can also turn off individual actions.

While typing

While you type in an editable field, Argon ignores shortcuts that use keys without modifiers.

Use shortcuts to add and edit todos

Add a todo from another app

On macOS, use Quick Add to add a todo while you work in another app. Open Quick Add with your chosen shortcut. You can change the shortcut in Settings → Keyboard.

  1. Type the todo.
  2. Press ↵. Return to your previous work.

Find and edit a todo in Argon

  1. Press ⌘F to find a view, section or todo.
  2. Use the arrow keys to select an item. In Vim mode, you can also use j and k.
  3. Press ↵ to edit the selected todo. In Vim mode, press x to complete it.
