Argon Terms of Service

1. Agreement and operator

These Terms of Service apply to the Argon task-management application, its website, desktop and mobile applications, and related services (collectively, “Argon”). Argon is operated from Australia by the Argon team (“we”, “us”, or “our”).

By accessing or using Argon, you agree to these terms and the Argon Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Argon. If you use Argon for an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these terms for that organisation.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be legally able to enter into this agreement. If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or legal guardian must approve your use of Argon.

You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information, keeping your sign-in method secure, and activity performed through your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised. You may also use Argon without an account in a local-only workspace.

3. Using Argon

Subject to these terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable licence to install and use Argon for lawful task and project management.

Local-only workspace data stays on the device unless you choose an external feature. Account-based features may store and synchronise data through Argon's cloud services. You are responsible for maintaining any backup you need and for exporting important information before deleting an account or device data.

4. Your content

You retain ownership of the todos, notes, files, images, calendar data, and other content you provide to Argon. You give us a limited licence to host, copy, process, transmit, and display that content only as needed to operate, secure, support, and improve the features you choose.

You confirm that you have the rights needed to provide your content and that doing so does not violate law or another person's rights. We do not claim ownership of your content and do not sell it.

5. Acceptable use

You must not:

• use Argon for unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, or harmful activity;
• access another person's account or data without permission;
• interfere with, overload, probe, or circumvent the service or its security controls;
• introduce malicious code or use automated access that materially disrupts the service;
• reverse engineer Argon except to the extent applicable law expressly permits it; or
• remove proprietary notices or misrepresent your relationship with Argon.

6. Third-party services and integrations

Argon can connect to services such as Apple, Google, Linear, X, and app marketplaces. Those services are operated by third parties and their own terms and privacy policies apply. You choose whether to connect them and may revoke access through Argon or the provider where supported.

We are not responsible for a third party's service, content, availability, or changes. Argon may change or discontinue an integration if its provider changes access, pricing, technical requirements, or policies.

7. Purchases and app marketplaces

Prices, taxes, billing, refunds, and purchase management for a store-distributed app are handled by the relevant marketplace and are subject to its rules. The Apple and Google Play versions may be sold as paid apps with Argon Sync included for the authenticated workspace, as described at the time of purchase.

Deleting an Argon account does not automatically cancel or refund a marketplace purchase. Nothing in these terms limits any refund, remedy, or other right that applicable law gives you.

8. Availability, updates, and changes

We may maintain, update, add, remove, suspend, or discontinue features. Cloud functions and integrations depend on networks and third-party services and may sometimes be unavailable. Where reasonably practical, we will try to give appropriate notice of material changes that adversely affect paid functionality.

You are responsible for installing supported updates. Older versions may stop working with online services when security, platform, or provider requirements change.

9. Consumer rights

If Argon fails to meet an applicable consumer guarantee, you may be entitled to a remedy under law. Information about Australian consumer guarantees is available from the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission.

10. Disclaimers and liability

To the extent permitted by law, Argon is provided on an “as available” basis. We do not promise that every feature will always be uninterrupted or error-free, or that Argon is suitable for critical, emergency, medical, legal, financial, or safety-related decisions.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, or consequential loss, or for lost profits, revenue, goodwill, or data, arising from use of Argon. These limitations do not apply where liability cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

11. Suspension, termination, and deletion

You may stop using Argon at any time and can delete your account from Settings > General > Account. We may restrict or suspend access when reasonably necessary to protect users or the service, investigate misuse, comply with law, or address a material breach of these terms.

Sections that by their nature should continue after termination—including ownership, consumer rights, disclaimers, liability, and dispute provisions—will continue to apply.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when Argon's features, providers, business model, or legal obligations change. The effective date at the top will be updated when changes are published. Material changes may also be communicated in the app or through another appropriate channel. Continuing to use Argon after updated terms take effect means you accept them.

13. General

These terms and the Privacy Policy form the agreement between you and us about Argon, subject to any mandatory marketplace terms. If a provision is unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions will continue. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.

These terms are governed by the laws applicable in Victoria, Australia, without excluding any mandatory rights or forum available to you under the law where you live.
