1. Scope and operator
This Privacy Policy applies to the Argon task-management application, its web experience, desktop and mobile applications, and related services (collectively, “Argon”). The Argon team operates Argon.
By using Argon, you acknowledge the practices described in this policy. If you use Argon through an organisation, it may have its own policies for information it controls.
2. Information Argon handles
Account and profile information
If you create an account, Argon processes your authentication identifiers, display name, profile image, and sign-in provider. It also processes an email address if you provide one or your sign-in provider makes one available. Some providers, including X, may let you create an Argon account without sharing an email address. Argon receives only the basic account information the provider makes available. It does not receive your provider password or phone number.
Workspace content
Argon stores the content you choose to create or import. This includes todos, notes, projects, areas, tags, deadlines, recurring schedules, events, and app settings. It also includes images attached to todos or your profile.
Calendar and import data
If you enable a calendar integration, Argon may process event titles, calendar names and colours, and event identifiers. It may also process start and end times, all-day status, and source-account information. If you import data from another task or reminder service, the imported content becomes part of your Argon workspace.
If you connect Linear, Argon may process the selected issue titles, descriptions, identifiers, URLs, status, due dates, teams, projects, labels, and connected-workspace account information. Linear access is read-only. Argon uses this access to create and update linked todos.
Technical information
Argon stores authentication sessions and app preferences on your device. To operate and secure the service, infrastructure providers may process standard service logs. These may include IP address, browser or device type, request time, and error details. Argon does not currently include third-party advertising or behavioural-advertising software development kits (SDKs).
Purchase and transactional email information
Stripe processes direct purchases and may ask for an email address during checkout if your Argon account has none. Argon receives limited transaction information, such as provider transaction identifiers, purchase channel, amount, currency, payment or refund status, and relevant timestamps. Argon does not receive or store your full card number. When an email address is available, Argon uses Resend to deliver account-confirmation, password-recovery, and purchase-receipt emails. Resend processes the recipient email address, email metadata, and message content, which may include an account action link or purchase receipt. Argon records whether and when a purchase receipt was sent.
Local-only workspaces
Local-only workspace content is stored on your device. Argon may check for updates automatically, sending technical request information to the update provider. External integrations and links may also contact third-party services.
3. How information is used
Argon uses information only as reasonably necessary to:
- authenticate you and maintain your account;
- store, display, search, organise, and synchronise your workspace;
- import and display calendar events and other content you request;
- upload and retrieve images you attach;
- maintain offline functionality and restore synchronisation when connectivity returns;
- process purchases, issue or revoke Argon Pro access, send account and receipt emails, and handle refunds or disputes;
- protect the service, diagnose failures, and prevent misuse;
- provide support and respond to privacy requests; and
- comply with applicable legal obligations.
Argon does not sell personal information and does not use your workspace or Google Calendar data for targeted advertising.
4. Google user data
When you connect Google Calendar, Argon requests read-only access to your calendar list and calendar events. Argon uses this access solely to show your selected Google Calendar information alongside your todos and to keep that display synchronised.
Argon’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Argon stores an encrypted Google OAuth refresh token on its server so authorised background sync can continue. Calendar access tokens and refresh tokens are not exposed to other Argon users. Cached Google event information is associated with your Argon account and protected by account-level access controls.
Argon does not use Google user data to serve advertisements, determine creditworthiness, sell data, create advertising profiles, or train general-purpose artificial-intelligence or machine-learning models. Human access is limited to circumstances you expressly authorise, security or abuse investigation, legal compliance, or operations where the data has been aggregated or de-identified.
You can disconnect Google Calendar in Argon at any time. Disconnecting revokes the Google grant where supported and removes the stored Google credential and cached Google Calendar events from Argon’s active systems. You can also remove Argon from your Google Account connections.
You can disconnect Linear in Argon at any time. Disconnecting revokes the Linear grant where supported and removes the stored Linear credential. Argon keeps todos already imported into your workspace.
6. Storage, transfers, and security
Argon stores cloud account data using Supabase-managed infrastructure. Service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Those countries may have different data-protection laws.
Argon uses safeguards appropriate to the service, including encrypted network transport, row-level account isolation, private storage policies, operating-system secure storage where available, and encryption of Google Calendar credentials at rest. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
7. Retention and deletion
Argon retains account and workspace information while your account remains active or as needed to provide the service. Local-only content remains on your device until you delete it, clear the application’s local data, or uninstall the application.
Deleting workspace items removes them from active workspace data, subject to temporary backups, offline copies awaiting synchronisation, security records, and legal retention requirements. Disconnecting Google Calendar removes its active credential and cached Google Calendar events as described above.
To permanently delete your Argon account, open Settings → Account → Delete account. Then confirm. Account deletion removes your authentication account, cloud workspace, uploaded images, settings, devices, connected-calendar credentials, and cached calendar events. Argon clears account data stored locally on the device used for deletion. When you delete your account, Argon attempts to revoke connected-provider access where supported. You may also need to remove Argon from the provider’s account settings.
After account deletion, Argon may retain a minimised, pseudonymised transaction record. The record contains provider transaction identifiers, purchase channel, amount, currency, status, whether and when a receipt was sent, and relevant timestamps. Argon may retain it for transaction integrity, fraud prevention, accounting, dispute handling, and legal obligations. The record is no longer linked to an active Argon account, but it is not anonymous. Argon removes the account link, stored provider payloads, and receipt-delivery provider identifier.
Stripe and Resend may separately retain payment or email-delivery records under their service terms, retention policies, and applicable legal obligations. Delivered messages remain in the recipient’s mailbox until removed there. Deleting your Argon account does not itself delete records held by those providers and does not automatically cancel or refund any purchase. If you cannot complete the in-app deletion flow, contact [email protected] for assistance.
8. Your choices and rights
You can choose a local-only workspace, disable cloud storage for an authenticated workspace, disconnect Google Calendar, revoke provider access, change profile details, and delete individual workspace items.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection regarding personal information. You may also have a right to complain to your local privacy regulator. Contact Argon to exercise an applicable right.
9. Children’s privacy
Argon is not directed to children under 13. The service is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact Argon so it can be reviewed and deleted where appropriate.
10. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when Argon’s features, providers, or legal obligations change. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when changes are published. Material changes may also be communicated in the app or through another appropriate channel.
